Background

Thailand Foundations are non-profit entities registered with the Thai Ministry of Interior. Foundations are a form of juristic person that engage in non-profit activities often promoting one of the following:

1. religion and morality
2. culture and education
3. humanitarianism and charity
4. environmental and animal protection
5. human rights

A different type of non-profit organization that may be registered in Thailand is an Association, which is defined as a membership group of persons sharing similar interests. A Thailand Association is more appropriate for organizations with due-paying members who participate in common non-profit activities such as sports and hobby clubs, or churches and religious organizations.

Our Experience

We have been registering non-profit organizations in Thailand since 1997, when our law firm was established. We have registered international NGOs involved in health care, civil governance, human rights and other areas.

We have also assisted churches and religious organizations to register foundations and associations. Often, our legal representation continues after the initial registration with legal services such as real estate acquisitions, licensing, corporate accounting and litigation.
